General Elektriks was born from an idea by Hervé Salters, a French vintage keyboardist. Before Salters moved to San Francisco in 1999, he played keyboards in Paris for his own band, as well as for various other
artists (Femi Kuti, -M-, DJ Mehdi, etc.). In America he began to experiment with the use of his favorite keyboards, a computer and a microphone and soon joined the hip-hop scene.
In 2003, the first General Electriks album Cliquety Kliqk came out, with which he was celebrated by the scene magazine URB as “Ennio Morricone for the 21st Century”. The record was a crazy mix of vintage funk, hip hop beats, noir riffs and pop. General Elektriks has made a name for itself as an excellent live band.
The hypnotic music as well as the thrilling stage show transmit incredible energy to the audience. After successful tours in France with more than 100 concerts and a sold-out Olympia in Paris, the next step is to conquer Germany. The new album Carry No Ghosts was released at the end of 2018.
